The Rhode Island State Police released the names of sixteen individuals who were arrested for DUI over the holidays. According to law enforcement, the following individuals were arrested between Dec. 20, 2018 and Jan. 2, 2019, and are facing multiple charges and traffic violations:
- A 21 year-old female from Narragansett
- A 36 year-old male from Cumberland
- A 30 year-old male from Pawtucket
- A 50 year-old male from Johnston
- A 27 year-old male from West Wareham, Massachusetts
- A 26 year-old male from Cranston
- A 34 year-old male from Central Falls
- A 36 year-old female from East Providence
- A 41 year-old male from Providence
- A 30 year-old male from Providence
- A 46 year-old male from Woonsocket
- A 41 year-old male from Pawtucket
- A 30 year-old male from Providence
- A 27 year-old female from Cumberland
- A 52 year-old male from Tampa, Florida
- A 58 year-old male from Smithfield
In a press release, Col. Ann Assumpico said, “There is simply no excuse for anyone driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol. The Rhode Island State Police will continue to aggressively pursue, arrest and prosecute anyone who drives while under the influence, putting the lives of everyone else at risk.” The press release also mentioned that the arrests led to seizures of a gun, switchblade, and illegal drugs.
